For this project, I used two white vases that I got at Ikea and have had forever, my beloved Frog Tape, Rubb-n-Buff, and two faux succulent stems from Hobby Lobby (originally $4, but I got them for 50 percent off).
Since the two vases were the same height and I wanted to create a “high/low” look, I taped off the bottoms at different heights. If I had a third vase, I probably would not have staggered the lines.
Give the bottom (or top!) side a little rubbin’ and buffin’.
And voila! I just plopped the succulent stems in the vases.
I love how the gold paint accentuates the dimples and dots on the vases.
And here’s how I styled them on my bookshelf!
I stacked one on a pile of books.
And snuck the other under a glass cloche.
(And yes, that is a gold cat. I won him at an auction. I know what you’re thinking, and yes…I was the only bidder. Yes, I know I’m borderline cat lady. And yes, there are two of them. So there’s more where that came from…lucky you).
